Five Pounds of Fudge


1/2 c. butter
1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
4 1/2 c. sugar
1 (8 oz) pkg. marshmallows
2 (1 oz) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 (12 oz) pkg. chocolate chips
3 (4 oz) pkg. sweet chocolate
1 tbs. vanilla extract
2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

In a large heavy saucepan, combine butter,
milk and sugar.
Bring to a boil over medium to medium high heat.
Cover, reduce heat to low and boil 5 min.
Turn off heat.
Add marshmallows and stir until melted.

One at a time, add unsweetened chocolate,
chocolate chips and sweet chocolate,
stirring until melted. Stir in vanilla.
If desired, add nuts.
Mix well with wooden spoon.
Pour into a large buttered pan,
such as a jellyroll pan.
Let stand until firm before cutting
into squares, about 5-6 hours.
Makes about 150 pieces (or pat's snack)
