Better Than Sex Cake V

1 box yellow cake mix, baked as instructed. Poke holes into hot cake about 2" apart. Bring to boil 1 cup sugar and 1 (20 oz.) can of crushed pineapple. Pour over cake evenly while cake is hot. Chill cake thoroughly. Next mix one box of vanilla instant pudding as directed on box. Add to it one cup of coconut. Spread on chilled cake. Top with 8 oz of whipped topping and sprinkle with 1 cup pecan pieces. This is better if it sets in refrigerator over night.
