Almond-Flavored Liqueur


3 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. water
Finely grated rind of 3 lemons
1 quart vodka
3 tbs. almond extract
2 tbs. vanilla extract
Combine first 3 ingredients in a Dutch oven;
bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer
5 min, stirring occasionally; cool completely.
Stir in remaning ingredients; store in
airtight containers.
Yield: about 2 quarts.
