Bacon Barbeque Sauce

6 slices bacon, crisp
½ c. chopped onions
½ c. chopped green pepper
1 (10. oz) can undiluted condensed tomato soup
½ c. water
1/ 2 c. bottled thick steak sauce
2 tsp. Granulated sugar
1 tsp. Vinegar
½ tsp. Salt
In medium skillet, fry bacon; drain on paper towels.
Pour all but 3 tbs. Fat from skillet. Add onions and
green pepper and cook over medium heat until tender, 5 min.
Stir in soup, water, sauce, sugar, vinegar and salt.
Cover and simmer 15 min., stirring occasionally.
Crumble, then add bacon pieces to sauce.
Serve as sauce for hamburgers, chicken and frankfurters.
