Seasoned Beans and Tomatoes


1 medium onion, diced
2 tbs. vegetable oil
2 c. fresh or frozen green beans, thawed
1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
2 tbs. sugar
1/4 tsp. EACH: salt, ground cloves
1/8 tsp. pepper
In a skillet, saute onion in oil until tender.
Stir in the remaining ingredients.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cook,
covered, over medium-low heat until beans are tender.
Serve with a slotted spoon.
Yield: 4-6 servings.
