Baking Powder-Ham Biscuits


2 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
7/8 c. milk
2/3 c. chopped cooked ham

Preheat oven to 400F.
In a large bowl, sift flour, baking powder and salt;
cut in shortening to consistency of rice grains.
Stir in milk and ham, mixing
just enough to blend ingredients.
Turn onto lightly floured board,
gently knead 5-6 times.
Roll out to 1/2-3/4' thickness;
cut with 2" biscuit cutter.
Place on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 min.
Makes 12-16 biscuits.
