Bread and Butter Pickles


4 qt. sliced cucumbers
2 c. sliced onions
2 tbs. mustard seed
1 tbs. celery seed
1/2 c. salt
1 qt. Vinegar
1 c. sugar
1 tbs. tumeric

Soak sliced cucumbers and sliced onions separately
overnight with 1/4 c. salt covered with water. Drain well.
Put cucumbers and onions in 6-8 qt. pan and
add remaining ingredients. Bring to a rolling boil
and then cook exactly 5 min. Bottle in sterile jars and seal.
