Bread Pudding


2 c. small cubes dry bread
4 c. milk, scalded
1 tbs. butter
1/4 tsp. Salt
3/4 c. sugar
4 slightly beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (1 oz) sq. unsweetened chocolate

Soak bread in milk 5 min.; add butter, salt and sugar.
Pour slowly over eggs; add vanilla extract and mix well.
Pour into greased baking dish.
Bake in pan of hot water in moderate oven, 350F,
until firm, about 50 min.
