Lily's Cherry and Chocolate Cake


1 (18.5 oz.)pkg. devil's food or fudge cake mix
1 (16 oz.) jar maraschino cherries,
drained and chopped
1 (16 oz.) can fudge OR chocolate frosting
1 1/2 c. hazelnuts OR nuts of your choice,
finely chopped

Prepare cake according to package directions
and baked in layers. When layers are cool,
lightly frost the bottom layer. Spread with cherries,
then top with second layer.
Frost entire cake with frosting and
then add nuts to top and side.
Makes 12 servings.
