Cheese Biscuits


2 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/3 lb. grated sharp cheese
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening

Sift dry ingredients into bowl.
Chop in shortening and cheese.
Add milk.
Roll to 3/4" thickness and cut in rounds.
Bake at 425°, 10-12 min. Serves 8.
