Chunky Blonde Brownies


1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup vanilla chips
1 cup chocolate chunks (light or dark)
3/4 cup macadamia nuts or almonds (divide in half), chopped

In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
Mix well. Combine flour, baking powder and salt;
add to creamed mixture.
Stir in vanilla chocolate chips, chocolate chunks and 1/2 C. nuts.
In sprayed 9"x 13" pan spread dough to cover bottom of pan.
Sprinkle with remaining nuts.
Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Let cool before serving. Makes about 2 dozen squares.
