Cream Cheese Poundcake


1 1/2 c. sugar
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
2 c. sifted cake flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
Confectioners' sugar for sprinkling on top

Combine sugar, sotened cream cheese, butter and vanilla,
mixing well until blended. Add eggs.
Mix at low speed on electric mixer until blended.
Gradually add flour sifted with baking powder,
mixing at low speed until blended.
Pour into greased and floured 9x5" loaf pan.
Bake at 325°, 1 hr. and 20 min.
Cool for 5 min. before removing from pan.
Sprinkle with conf. sugar.
