1/2 lb. carrots 1 stalk celery 1 whole chicken 3 large onions
1 pure/fresh garlic or 1 tbs. garlic seasoning or garlic salt 1 tbs. salt
1 tbs. white pepper 8 oz. frozen peas 8 oz. frozen corn
10 oz. egg noodles
Boil the garlic, onions and chicken together approximately 35 min. until chicken
falls off the bone. Dice and slice carrots and celery into bite-size pieces.
Place chicken in the refrigerator to cool. Add carrots and celery to the pot to boil for 35 more minutes or until tender.
Tear cooked chicken from bone by hand, breaking into bite-size pieces and put back into pot with the carrots and celery.
Add the noodles, seasonings, and chicken and cook until noodles are soft, about 15 min.
At the end, add the peas and corn to cool the soup down enough to eat. The heat of the soup at this point will cook them enough to eat.
We LOVE to add cayenne pepper when we have sore throats. Knocks it right out of you! We also sometimes substitute rice for noodles, or we may add two cans of cream of mushroom soup
to add a richness to the flavor! Don't forget to drink the broth. That is the secret to healing you. Also, this soup tastes even better if you let it sit overnight in the refrigerator BEFORE you take the first bite.
If you are too sick to eat, drink or sip the broth.
