Fried Apples and Bacon


Fry strips of bacon in heavy skillet until crisp.
Remove and drain on paper.
To 2 tbs. bacon fat in pan,
add 1 qt. peeled and sliced tart apples.
Add 2 tbs. sugar.
Cover and cook slowly until apples are tender.
Remove cover, turn apples gently and continue cooking
slowly until they are brown and transparent.
Serve with bacon.
