Fried Cabbage

Cut the cabbage very fine. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Stir well and let stand for 5 min. Drop 1 tbs. lard onto a hot iron kettle; then the cabbage, stirring briskly until the cabbage is quite tender. Add 1/2 c. cream and remove kettle from the fire. Stir in 3 tbs. cider vinegar.
