FRUIT COBBLER


1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
approximately 1 quart or cooked, unsweetened fruit
or 1 No. 2 1/2 can cooked, sweetened fruit

Mix dry ingredients.
Add egg and mix together well to form crumbles.
Drain sliced apples, peaches, apricots
or other fruit and place in a 9x9 pan.
Sprinkle crumble mixture over fruit.
(Light colored fruits make a prettier crust
than red or dark colored ones.)
Pour drained juice over the top
to cover and moisten crumbles.
Bake at 350F for about 1 hour or until browned.
Serve plain, hot or cold, or
with whipped cream or ice cream.
