Garlic Mashed Potatoes


2 c. water
8 med.-size potatoes, peeled
2 large cloves garlic, peeled
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
3 tbs. butter
1/3 c. heated cream

In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.
Add potatoes and garlic; cover and boil slowly
until tender, about 30 min. Reserving cooking liquid,
drain potatoes. Put hot potatoes and garlic through food ricer.
Add salt, pepper, butter and cream. Stir, to blend ingredients.
Add reserved potato, cooking water to desired consistency.
Makes 6 servings.
