Almost Hardees Biscuits

2 1/3 c. self-rising flour 1 1/2 tbs. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 c. cold butter 1 c. buttermilk
Preheat oven to 450°.
In large bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking soda.
Slice cold butter into mixture
and cut in until fairly large lumps remain.
Stir in buttermilk.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/2" thickness.
Cut out with biscuit cutter.
Place on baking sheet and bake in preheated oven,
about 15 minutes. Makes 18 biscuits.
