Joanne's Chewies

1 stick butter
1½ c. flour
lb. dark brown sugar
1½ tsp. baking powder
3 eggs
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs.
Sift flour and baking powder and salt.
Add vanilla and nuts.
Mix well and pour into greased pan.
Bake at 350°, 30 minites.
Spread confectioners sugar (sifting it)
over tops and cut into squares.
