ORANGE FRENCH TOAST WITH ORANGE SYRUP


Toast:
2 eggs
1 C. orange juice
1 Tbs. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
12 slices French tread
6 Tbs. butter

Beat eggs, orange juice, sugar and salt together.
Dip bread into mixture, coating both sides.
Place bread on baking sheets. Freeze just until firm.
Wrap and return to freezer.
Before serving - place bread slices in well buttered,
shallow baking pan. Melt butter and drizzle over bread.
Bake at 5OOF for 5 minutes.
Turn and bake until golden, about 5 minutes more.
Serve with following syrup. (Serves 6.)

Syrup:
1 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. grated orange peel
1/4 C. orange Juice (either frozen or fresh)

Combine all ingredients. simmer 5 minutes. Cool.
Store in refrigerator in covered container.
Will keep for a year.
Heat before serving with Orange Toast.
