Orange Walnut Fudge

3 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. orange juice
4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
1 Tbsp. finely shredded orange peel
In 3 quart saucepan, combine the sugar, water and
orange juice. Cook and stir over medium heat
until sugar dissolves and mixture comes to a boil.
Clip candy thermometer to side of pan and
continue cooking to 234° (soft ball stage),
stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
Stir in chocolate chips and orange peel.
Fold in walnuts.
Spread candy in foil-lined 13x9x2" baking pan.
Chill until set. To serve, cut into small squares.
Store candy in refrigerator. Makes 3 pounds.
