Pear Jam

8 medium pears
4 c. sugar
1 (8 1/4 oz) can unsweetened
crushed pineapple
1 (4 oz) pkg. crystallized ginger
Put peeled and cored pears through food chopper.
Cook all ingredients in a large saucepan for
30 min., stirring frequently. Pour into
hot sterile jars, leaving 1/8" head space.
Adjust lids and process in boiling
water bath for 15 min.
Yield: 2 1/2 pints.
