Santa Claus Whiskers


1 c. EACH: butter, sugar
2 tbs. milk
1 tsp. vanilla OR rum extract
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. finely chopped red and
green candied cherries
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
3/4 c. flaked coconut

In a large bowl, cream butter and
sugar and blend in milk and vanilla.
Stir in flour, candied cherries and nuts.
Form in 2 rolls, 2" in diameter and 8" long.
Roll in coconut. Wrap and chill
several hours or overnight.
Slice 1/4" thick and place on
ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in preheated 375F oven
until edges are golden, about 12 min.
Makes 5 dozen.
These store well in an airtight container.
