1/2 c. shortening (part butter or margarine)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sour cream
Heat oven to 425F.
Mix shortening, sugar, egg, and vanilla and cream well.
Blend dry ingredients together,
then add to sugar mixture alternately with sour cream.
Roll out dough to 1/4" thickness and
Cut with desired cookie cutters.
Place on greased baking sheet.
Can sprinkle with sugar if desired.
Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Makes 4-5 dozen 2" cookies.
