Tarragon Garlic Bread


2 tbs. butter
1 clove garlic, smashed
1/2 tsp. crushed, dried tarragon
1 (5") piece good quality French bread, sliced in half lengthwise
salt (optional)

In a skillet, melt butter.

Add garlic and cook over low heat 5 min.
Stir in tarragon and simmer 1 min.
Press bread halves into butter mixture.
Sprinkle with salt, if desired.
Place bread halves together,
butter-side in, and wrap loosely
in aluminum foil. Bake at 325°
until hot, about 10 min.
Makes 2 servings.
