Tillie's Squash Casserole

1/4 c. water 2 lbs. yellow squash, sliced 1 med. onion, sliced 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 3 tbs. melted butter, divided 3 tbs. flour 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1 c. milk 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated 4 tbs. plain bread crumbs
In saucepan, bring water, squash, onion
Mix 2 tbs. butter with bread crumbs.
