Travis House Oysters


1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
dash of red pepper
1/4 c. cracker crumbs
1 onion
1/2 green pepper
1 bud garlic
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbs. worcestershire
1 qt. oysters
1/4 lb. Smithfield ham

Melt butter.
Add flour; cook 3 min. Stir constantly.
Add paprika, salt and peppers.
Cook 3 min.
Add onion, green pepper and garlic
(finely chopped). Cook 5 min.
Remove from fire. Add lemon juice.

Heat oysters quickly in own juice.
Cover bottom of casserole with ham.
Place oysters next. Cover with sauce.
Sprinkle cracker crumbs on top.
Bake at 400F, 30 min.
